Information has recently been released by the U.S. National Archives which has rocked the extra-terrestrial world. The tremendous discovery: flying saucers almost became a reality.
According to recently revealed materials, a US military venture in the 1950s set out to create a unique aircraft, very similar to a flying saucer, with a ceiling of more than 100,000 feet and an average top speed of 2,600 miles per hour.
The venture, named Project 1794, was funded by the U.S Air Force, and a Canadian company which is now no more. Perhaps this Canadian company went under after discovering that after creating a prototype design, it would actually cost them around $26.6 million in today’s money to build.
The plans showed that the craft would be able to take off and land vertically (VTOL) by using propulsion jets and technology that was in the process of being researched. Unfortunately, the flying saucer never took off further than 5 or 6 feet in altitude, and reached nowhere near the 100,000 feet target. That was seen as another reason why the project was finally cancelled.
However, these research findings are now in the public eye, so you can bet that some evil mastermind such as The Green Goblin will get his hands on these, and create a flying saucer to be reckoned with. (Well, in the next SpiderMan movie anyway).
